Established in 2005, Cowboy Boot Camp® is a membership equestrian program which just recently expanded their operation to the famed, Silver Spur Stables, 1900 Riverside Drive, Glendale, adjacent to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank. The company has plans to add more locations throughout Southern California in the near future.

With over 250 members, some as far away as Northern California, Washington State and Michigan, “Boot Campers” get to enjoy benefits at all sites where Cowboy Boot Camp conducts workshops, demonstrations, events and clinics. They also invite members-only to participate at various equestrian events and horseback riding getaways.

The company has developed a unique program to teach a thorough and practical approach to natural horsemanship and trail riding safety for the beginner, intermediate & advanced adult rider. They offer step-by-step techniques to strengthen horsemanship skills, increase confidence, as well as teach equine care and horse management. Their goal is to give the tools to acquire a solid riding foundation to more effectively communicate and build a lasting relationship with horses. 

The ownership of a horse is not required to learn these skills; just a willingness and desire to learn. Cowboy Boot Camp instruction and demonstrations are offered frequently at their low-stress and personal stable environment on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Rolling Hills Estates, at their Burbank facility and at the R-Ranch location adjacent to Sequoia National Forest near Kernville.

According to Jim Moore, “We want to make it fun and easy to understand the true meaning of natural horsemanship and teach what works best for the long-term welfare of the horse and rider.” The Cowboy Boot Camp® clinics and events provide up-to-date information about equine training procedures, nutrition and care, veterinary issues, as well as advanced clinics: “Ride on Trails Where There Ain’t No Trails™” and “What Every Horse Wants His Owner to Know™” and much more.
